Spring is here and we couldn’t be more excited! It is a time to dig deep and get some spring cleaning done; here are a couple ideas to get you in the spring cleaning mood:
1. Spring green clean your home – give your spring cleaning routine a green makeover! Swap out the bleach and disinfecting cleaner for baking soda and vinegar. You can even make your own DIY non-toxic cleaning kit. Opening up your windows for a couples hours will circulate fresh air in your home.
2. Refresh your mind and body – We are just coming out of the hibernation mentality of winter, so you can shake up your routine by going out for a run or walk, clearing and focusing your mind with yoga or meditation. If you’re feeling real ambitious you can take a dip in one of the many indoor NYC park’s pools (outdoor pools will open later this season).
3. Clean up your digital self – Spruce up your social networking pathways, delete old posts and photos, reorganize your contacts, and deactivate profiles you’re no longer using. Keep your digital self squeaky clean!
4. Clean the Earth – April 22nd is Earth Day, but there are activities, exhibits, and volunteer opportunities going on all this month! Earth Day New York has events going on starting April 19th. Volunteer with New York Care Day Spring on April 21st. Attend the Green Festival on April 21st and 22nd to see the latest and greatest in eco products and services from fashion to organic food. Plant trees with Million Trees NYC on April 28th.
You know it’s spring when the Frying Pan reopens! Be sure to head out to the Frying Pan on April 10th and join Green Drinks for a night of networking and fun! We will be giving away a couple passes to the event on facebook, so check out our page!
